We are looking for an experienced DevOps Engineer to join our Data team, with experience of automation tooling and technologies.
What you will do…
o Development of infrastructure through reusable code with automated tooling and tests
o Help us deliver our technical strategy of moving to a Kubernetes based platform
o Use of metrics and monitoring information to ensure performance and reliability
o Understand the complexities of working with multi-tier applications and capacity testing
o Scale our systems to tolerate thousands of transactions per second
o Delivery of new features and tooling for both business and technical stakeholders
o Interact with other squads outside of your own to ensure the uptime and reliability of our infrastructure
o Work alongside your colleagues to resolve engineering problems and incidents
o Collaborate with architects and technical teams to help define platforms for the future
How you will do it…
o Automate - from small scripts and build pipelines to brand new systems, you'll have a passion for automation and continuous improvement
o Develop - you'll use your coding skills to help build resilient software and infrastructure. We choose the right tool for the job depending on the problem we're trying to solve.
o Operate - you'll understand how applications and services run in real world production environments, whether it's containers or virtual machines on our own platform or in AWS, you'll know how to keep them running smoothly.
o You will use Chef, Terraform and where necessary bespoke tooling to build, configure and maintain Data tribes underlying Platform components
o Using your excellent communication skills you'll share knowledge and help your team make sound engineering decisions while embracing DevOps culture
o Experience of Hadoop and other data platforms is beneficial but not essential
