Front End Developer
Working with a large organisation in the Centre of Sheffield they are looking for a front-end developer. It's a fast paced environment yet they have created a distinctly friendly and informal feel to them - we know that you can do great business without the suits. This role sits within the engineering department that looks after changes required for workplace and portal. Whether it is about making updates to our fancy website or supporting complex product change back end changes, we do it all. It is a dynamic multi skill team and has a wide range of challenging learning opportunities around all areas.
We're looking for a Frontend Developer with a good eye for replicating designs in HTML/CSS.
The ideal candidate is someone with who is passionate about delivering a great customer experience and keeps up to date with emerging technology and best practice.
The projects you'll work on are varied and you'll have the opportunity to draw on all of your experience whether it's writing elegant code, building intuitive user interfaces or engineering highly performant and accessible web pages.

As a Front End Developer you will...

Be responsible for building frontend code which is accessible, maintainable and performant
Work closely with our design teams during the creative process
Perform Cross-Browser and Cross-Device testing
Conduct code reviews of colleagues work to maintain high quality output
Attend project and team meetings with business stakeholders
Help with the creation of User Stories in requirements capturing

Experience
Essential

HTML5 and CSS / PostCSS
Javascript / ES6
Responsive Design
Experience with either Photoshop, Adobe XD or Invision
Git or other version control systems

Desirable
React, Node, Angular
Javascript Unit Testing
User Testing & UX Analysis
AB & Multivariate Testing
Google Analytics Integration
Google Tag Manage
Articulate with good communication skills
Experience with templating languages such as: Handlebars / Twig / Smarty
Exposure to back-end languages such as: Node / PHP / Java
Experience using Unix based terminal
Experience of an Agile/Scrum environment
Experience of JIRA/Confluence
