My client a leading company based in St Albans are searching for a Lead Developer to join an agile team with the responsibility of delivering world-class customer facing products. As a Lead Developer you will undertake a variety of tasks to support the team in the delivery of their ongoing sprint goals.

Key Skills and Experience Required:

  • Industry standard principles (SOLID, clean code)
  • .Net Core
  • .NET Framework (version 3.5+) and C# .
  • Web API (RESTful)
  • Visual Basic 6 and VBA in Access
  • SQL Server - T-SQL, Stored Procedures
  • Unit Test Framework (NUnit, MSTest, or xUnit.net), Integration Testing
  • Mocking frameworks (e.g. Moq)
  • Source Control, Build and Deployment Tools (Azure DevOps and GIT)
  • Agile (Scrum, Kanban) environment experience, TDD/Unit Testing, Continuous Integration

Desired Skills and Experience:

  • Experience as a Lead Developer
  • Source control, build and deployment tools such (e.g. GIT, Bamboo, Octopus)
  • Exposure to Azure DevOps and Azure Cloud
  • NET MVC and Web Development (HTML, CSS, JavaScript)
  • Messaging Frameworks (e.g. RabbitMQ)
  • NoSQL Database (e.g. MongoDB)
  • Test-driven Development (TDD)
  • ORM Technology (NHibernate or Entity Framework)
  • Front-end frameworks (e.g. Bootstrap)
  • Microsoft SSIS and SSRS
  • MSMQ
  • Experience in a DevOps environment - continuous integration, continuous deployment
  • Experience in Android development frameworks
  • Exposure to Containers, Docker

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop clean code which adheres to SOLID principles and follows the solution architecture
  • Actively participate in driving continuous improvement within the team
  • Mentor the team and lead on new skills, technology and problem solving
  • Bridge the gap between the engineering team and other teams/personnel (Architecture, Principal Engineer)
  • Be actively involved in and lead design decisions
  • Support the Product Owner and Delivery Manager in communicating and updating stakeholders
  • Assist with translating technical solutions into language that non-technical staff will understand
  • Ensure that the application lifecycle, quality assurance, database engineering and build and deployment tasks are in place and understood by the team
  • Be committed to deliver high quality well tested software as part of an agile team
