JOB DESCRIPTION

Requirement for two Senior Data Engineers to join a leading energy company at their Reading office. The ideal candidates will have solid backgrounds as Data Engineers, must provide leadership and demonstrate their knowledge in building, optimising and maintaining data applications and ETL services and systems.

 

This is a hybrid role with 2 days per week visit at their Reading / Portsmouth / Dublin office (whichever is closest to you).

 

RESPONSIBILITIES

As a Data Engineer, you will be responsible for but not limited to:

  • Provide accountability for ensuring the ongoing maintenance and developed service improvements to core applications.
  • Analyse system requirements; design, test, model and modify data pipelines and scripts to agreed company standards.
  • Collaborate with product and wider IT teams to deliver business outcomes in Agile and DevOps environment.

 

REQUIREMENTS

  • Extensive experience in Cloud migration methodologies and processes including tools like Azure Data Factory, Event Hub, etc.
  • Solid experience of relational databases and data storage technologies such as: SQL Server, Oracle, MongoDB, MySQL, NoSQL, Data Warehousing and Databricks.
  • Proven understanding of the full software development lifecycle (SDLC).
  • Experience with designing, building, and operating analytics solutions using Azure cloud technologies.
  • Working knowledge of Synapse and ETL technologies.
  • Experience in interpreting data, analysing results using statistical techniques.
  • Fully conversant with Agile and DevOps development methodology.
  • Proven knowledge of report building with PowerBI skill and Python.
  • Microsoft Azure certifications are a plus.
