The Bridge IT are working with a global client to recruit a Software Asset Manager as they look to expand their SAM Team in 2021.

The client in question is a professional services company and have one of the most high-functioning SAM Team located in Leeds City Centre.

We are searching for an experienced Asset Management professional who can hit the ground running using tools, techniques and processes to create and maintain accurate software records, supporting the lifecycle management of all software licensing in the UK and overseas. It also includes the management of Software as a Service consumption as the company are moving onto an Azure platform.

Role Responsibilities:

* Track, record and maintain software assets using the SAM tool.
* Maintain SAM tool accuracy, working with the SAM tool provider to ensure the tool continues to provide accurate data
* Work with Service Owners to confirm true licence requirements, ensuring software is fully optimised, reducing and re-harvesting licences where possible, ensuring compliance and realising savings where identified
* Produce reports and analysis to support Asset Management activities and aid decision making, including providing reporting on effective licence position for agreed software within agreed timescales
* Co-ordinate the IT renewals process, providing pro-active support to colleagues (including IT Service Owners, IT Finance and Procurement) ensuring timely renewal, best value and compliance
* Maintain the Approved Software Register
* Collaborate with the SAM manager to design, document and continually improve SAM processes
* Support colleagues across the international IT Department in the use of the SAM tool
* Proactively manage the SAM team email inbox
* Understand and maintain records of Product Use Rights and Terms and Conditions for software.
* Maintain the SAM intranet page

The successful candidate will have the following:

* Experience of working in a similar SAM role in a global business environment with sound understanding of global process and transactional flows, with a track record of continuous professional development
* SAM and ITIL accreditation preferred
* Broad knowledge of software licensing (including experience in some of the following: Adobe, Citrix, Cisco, IBM, iManage, Microsoft, Okta, Oracle, SAP, Secureworks, VMware, Webex and Zoom)
* Experienced in using Software Asset Management and Discovery Tools for tracking, reporting, compliance auditing, software metering and usage optimisation
* Experienced in interpreting software licensing terms
* Experience of working in a similar SAM role in a global business environment with sound understanding of global process and transactional flows, with a track record of continuous professional development
* SAM and ITIL accreditation preferred
